Given the price and what it's capable of, I'm more than happy with the results. But even at louder volumes, I didn't feel like the output was muddled distorted. I could've used a pinch more bass at times, and given the stereo approach, the sound space can feel a bit confined.
#A10 HEADSET DRIVERS#
The A10's 40mm drivers pump out stellar and nicely balanced sound across the board, whether you're playing games, watching movies or TV shows, or listening to music. Its hardly ugly, but its a lot simpler and more spartan in design than its siblings, lacking. And in Forza Motorsport 7, the intense roar of the engines and crunching metal of collisions sounded spot-on. The A10 is arguably the least stylish member of the Astro headset family, but not dramatically so. Last year's Doom reboot sounded as brash and booming as you'd expect from such a chaotic shooter, even if it could be a little overpowering at times. In Rocket League, the heavily electronic soundtrack had a nice, clear thump to it in the menus, while every shot and explosive goal rang through cleanly in the midst of the frantic battles. When gaming on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, I experienced clear, crisp sound across a variety of games and scenarios. That keeps the aural experience a bit less immersive than with some other devices, but that's not a knock against the A10: for the price, it's solidly impressive. I was a little curious to see how this would rate against the in-ear competition but can report it worked really well and that having your ears covered didn't offer an extra barrier. As mentioned, the Astro A10s keep things simple with stereo sound, meaning you won't find the kind of 7.1 surround sound seen on some pricier headsets. The A10 also has an Ambient Listening Mode that allows outside noises through, meaning you can hold a conversation without hitting the pause button on your music or podcast. OneOdio says 95% of low and mid-range noises are completely blocked whilst the headphones are in use, and these claims were easily backed up in the real world as it squashed outside noises such as wind, noisy children's telly or even a vacuum with ease. But with these being over-the-ear headphones I thought made a real difference. Now the active noise-cancelling field (ANC) is getting crowded these days, where Apple once led others have caught up and you have a host of earpods to choose from even at this price point. Frequency response 20 - 20,000 Hz and Microphone 6.0mm uni. With the omnidirectional mic featuring flip-up mute functionality and in-line Volume Control, youll have total command of your gaming audio experience. Pairing them to your device is quick and easy, while the controls on each earpad are well placed and do the usual (volume up and down, skip track etc). The A10 Headset is tuned for gaming with ASTRO Audio, ensuring you hear your game and your teammates with clarity and precision.

#A10 HEADSET FULL#
A full charge takes a little over two hours, although they also support quick charging which means just five minutes of being plugged in will get you another two hours of use. And, being honest, OneOdio might have been underplaying that as I never got close to using up the juice.

How could I wear them for hours? That's because the battery life on these wireless wonders is an absolute epic 45 hours. And I know, I wore them for hours and hours without one twinge. You are in no danger of experiencing headphone earache with these. The same foam can be found on the headband and this - coupled with the fact that you can change the size of the band - means they are super comfortable. The earpads are equipped with protein memory foam. But the headphones themselves continue the theme, looking very sharp with a glossy metal finish on the earcups. Well, first off you're actually met with a very nice travelling case that very solid and swish-looking. On unboxing, you're met with a wireless headset that just screams premium. And at that price, they're an absolute steal. The OneOdio A10 are over-the-ear active noise-cancelling headphones you can pick up for £69.99 on Amazon at the moment. But, whisper it, I might have found a set that could pack even more bang for the buck. I was incredibly impressed by its Monitor 80s which proved to be an inexpensive way to enter the world of the audiophile. OneOdio is on a hot streak at the moment.
